The ZerNola website

ZerNola is the website offering science and technology subjects in a light, attractive way and which runs parallel to and complements the education system. It is a place students love to access; a place for playing, reading and awakening an enthusiasm for science.

It targets two kinds of public:

• Kids from 8-12 years old.
• Teachers, because it provides supplementary material for their work.

It has six main sections: Lapikoa, ZN Olinpiada, Jokoak, Postalak, Zuen txokoa and Ezetz Asmatu

• It offers tools for getting to know nature better and understanding technology better.
• Students work on science in an enjoyable way through games, by doing laboratory exercises, participating in the ZN Olympiad or by seeing the work of other people.
• The Zernola Olinpiada plays an enlivening role among Basque schools.
• It provides teachers with an excuse to use ICTs and interesting materials to work on.

Irrika website

Irrika sets out to awaken curiosity and enthusiasm for science among young people.
• It targets young people between the ages of 14 and 18.
• It offers concise but deep content on science and research from an original perspective.
• It has a lively, daring design.


The project was started in 2008 on the initiative of the EHU-University of the Basque Country and is run by the Elhuyar Foundation.
