Elhuyar laboratory

The Elhuyar Laboratory for Scientific Culture was set up in 2008. It aims to promote reflection on science and technology and to gather together all the social agents. The Elhuyar Laboratory was conceived as an ongoing sphere of collaboration to achieve cooperation among the media, social and cultural agents, agents in the education system, the R + D + Innovation network and companies and universities.

Its main aims are as follows:

To promote relations among scientists, researchers and citizens.
To promote public and academic reflection on science and technology.
To encourage a knowledge of science and technology and to present science and technology as a human social activity.
To encourage awareness among researchers and citizens.
To offer arguments for social dialogue; to encourage people to exercise autonomy when taking decisions, to build a more democratic and more open society.
To encourage democratic attitudes and activities on technological and scientific innovation.
